akron Yoga Summit

Kevin Karas had the vision with Oliver Evans to create a meditation group at The University of Akron. The group expanded tremendously in members and vision of uniting the Spiritual Community in Akron, living in service of discovering and actualizing our highest purpose in life and helping others to do the same. One of The ways this vision is actualized through the annual spring into awareness event.

Spring into Awareness is a collaborative week-long series of free events at The University of Akron organized by Holistic Leaders to inspire our community toward deeper fulfillment through transformation from the level of the self to the environment.
Events throughout the week will include interactive speakers, break-out sessions, group discussions, activities, volunteerism, and music & arts around the topics of community leadership, mindfulness, meditation, sustainability, environmentalism, and other practices for improving the well-being of yourself, the environment and the community.

Elevate Akron:
a yoga and service movement sharing love and light in the greater Akron area through community yoga events.
Our mission is to ELEVATE the city of Akron by bringing together a tribe of like-minded people to practice yoga and to serve local charitable causes.
Elevate Akron was founded in January 2014 by Lexi Carris and Tracy Rhinehart. In sharing their visions, they created a movement that celebrated and elevated Akron, the city they love, by bringing together the yoga community.
The first Elevate Akron event took place at Hardesty Park in May 2015 where nearly 1,000 yogis gathered on the grass to share in a powerful practice, food and fun.
